I hit up the gym in my apartment building this morning for Back and Biceps (day 23 of LiveFit). I have been using the gym at school a lot more recently because some of the moves call for machines and the school gym is better equipped.
My little apartment gym is not bad though…and super convenient!
Free weights and a few machines.
Treadmills, ellipticals, and some bikes.

Did you hear that today is National Peanut Butter Day?! HOORAH!
I made a peanut butter protein smoothie after my workout similar to the other day.
For awhile peanut butter was deemed a ‘bad’ food by many people because it is high in fat (and therefore a higher calorie content). BUT peanut butter is high in the GOOD fats…poly- and monounsaturated fats. These fats keep you fuller longer and are great energy for the body. So eat UP! (but just watch the portion size, maybe not the whole jar)
Word of caution: many peanut butters contain added sugars and salt which are unnecessary and not the healthiest. Look for products made with just peanuts. You could even branch out and try the new almond butters, sunflower butters, etc. There are a ton of good products out there..just read the labels!
My top 5 ways to enjoy peanut butter?
1. Peanut butter and banana on whole wheat toast…or even better Ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread… with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
2. On top of a whole grain waffle, especially homemade!
3. With oatmeal!
4. Cottage cheese with peanut butter and fruit like an apple, banana, or pears.
5. Baked sweet potato topped with peanut butter.
