Twas the morning of Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were still hung by the chimney with care,
But everyone knew that St Nicholas had already been there.

The adults were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Christmas fun danced in their heads.

But Anna in her sneakers, and ready for fun,
Had just laced her shoes for a virtual 10K holiday run.

More rapid than eagles her legs they ran,
And she whistled, and sang, and had as much fun as a girl can!

To the end of Main Street to the halfway street sign!
Now run faster! Run faster! Run faster than an equine!

As dry leaves crunched under her shoes did they fly,
She meet none an obstacle, but reached for the sky.

So back to the house like the wind she flew,
Out of breath, ready to eat, but full of energy too.

She was dressed all in black, from her head to her toe,
But her nails were painted bright red and boy did they glow.

Her eyes-how they watered! her sweat how merry!
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry!

A wink of her eye and a check of her watch,
Soon relieved her to know she had run at top notch.

She spoke not a word, but went straight to the shower,
And cleaned up for Christmas, knowing she finished in under an hour.

But she heard herself exclaim, just for merriment and fun,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-run!"

I finished by virtual 10K race in 48 minutes 45 seconds yesterday morning! I added 4 more miles to complete my first double-digit run since the marathon.  A great Christmas present to myself.

Did you do the 10K Virtual Run? Spill!…What was the best present you got for Christmas?
